QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT HOME REMODELING

Secure Construction Answers Your Frequently Asked Questions!

We know how difficult remodeling your home can be. To ease some of your concerns, here are the answers to some commonly asked questions. If you have any more questions that you believe should be added to our list, please contact us at (304) 733-1760 or message us online.

Q: When is the best time to remodel my home?

A: Now! There is no bad time to remodel your home. We work throughout the year, through heat and cold, perfecting homes in the area.

Q: How do I know when it is time to get a new roof?

A: Historically, the average lifespan of an old, three-tab asphalt shingled roof was 15-20 years. If the age of your roof is unknown, some signs that you may need a new roof include large amounts of granules in the gutters and missing shingles. Obviously, if your roof is leaking profusely it is time to get a new roof.

Q: What are your payment options?

A: We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards, and we also have a financing option. There is NO payment until the project is completed.

Q: Are metal roofs loud?

A: No. Modern metal roofs are installed over solid sheeting, whether it is OSB/flakeboard, plywood, or even an old shingle roof, so the sound of rain does not transmit through the house.

Q: What kind of work does Secure Construction do?

A: We do all facets of exterior remodeling, and some interior too!

Services We Provide:

Q: Why are my windows foggy between the panes of glass?

A: There are many reasons for condensation to build up between the panes of glass in a window. Most frequently, it is due to a broken seal. The only way to get rid of the condensation is to replace the window, which is why we recommend installing windows that come with a lifetime warranty such as those from Polaris.

Q: Why are my windows foggy/steamy on the outside of glass?

A: When the outside weather is very humid and hot, condensation will build up on a window, particularly if the AC is cranked up inside the house. Once the humidity level outside decreases, the condensation on the window should go away. Likewise, if the inside of your house is hot and humid and the outside is very cold, condensation may build up on the interior of your windows.

Q: Why are your windows so much better that the windows I already have?

A: Secure Construction sells and installs premium vinyl replacement windows from PolarisAlside. These windows feature multiple insulating air chambers, double barrier-fin, and weather-stripping around the sashes and frame to help reduce conduction and increase home energy efficiency. They are constructed with fusion-welded sashes and metal reinforcement for added strength and durability. Also, these windows are offered with low-e glass with argon gas which helps to prevent most UV rays from entering your house, thereby reducing fading of your window treatments and furniture, as well as adding extra efficiency.
